Songs for Seedlings
Ages 0 /1 & 2
Devoted music time for caregiver & child is a wonderful way to nourish your bond and connection. Come learn simple and engaging music activities that you can sing together, beyond class time!
At this ages and stage, cognitive development is deeply enhanced through early music education. It's stimulating and incredibly fun for these babies and toddlers. Specific 'twin skills' of focus are Attention, Memory, Cognitive Flexibility and Perception. Without getting too scientific, you will feel and see the benefits in your consistency, and willingness to participate as the caregiver. You will soon recognize what elements your child really enjoys and responds to.
2nd Semester January 18 - June 12th (17 weeks)
$510 includes reg. fee and Sat. June 14th Recital
(No classes Feb. 11-15, Mar 25-29, Apr. 19-26, may 20-22)
Please make note of the performance dates as they are confirmed; specific
times TBA. They will take place at Lakeview United Church (3023 63rd Ave SW).
Music Explorers Ages 3-6
An inspired and loved unparented program for ages 3-6. 45 min classes are full of song, movement, play and fun. Children are learning multiple music and developmental concepts through action and reinforcement, and also practicing awareness of each other with positive interaction. We use various instruments and manipulatives to introduce different timbres and sounds, and many of our songs/games guide students to think of and confidently offer their own ideas. I often incorporate ASL (American Sign Language) and try to involve SEL (Social/Emotional Learning). This is a wonderful small-group experience for children also entering larger classroom settings.
