About James
James Horne discovered his love for music at two years old, beginning his studies with Shirley Nham and working through the Royal Conservatory of Music program. What started as casual curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
Raised in a musical family, James learned early what dedication, resilience, and artistry truly mean. His mother, a professional oboist who performed with orchestras and opera companies, was his first inspiration and guide into the musical world. Her example continues to motivate him as he develops his own musicianship.
James completed his RCM Level 7 Practical Piano Examination and is currently working towards Level 8. In addition to piano, he is an accomplished clarinetist and has performed with the Southern Alberta Youth Honour Band - an experience that broadened his musical perspective and deepened his commitment to exploring new avenues in music.
As a teacher, James brings enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine love for learning to every lesson. He believes music should be joyful and fun! If he can achieve his goals, he knows his students can too.
